It's been a few years since posting.

It's been several years since I've posted on here. I've been very busy with many, many things. I know that pretty much no one reads this, so I'm not going to make any promises about posting on the certain days or anything. I am going to promise that when I have something important to say or something that I cannot forget, I will say it.
Right now, the biggest thing that keeps coming up is the issue of forgiveness. As Christians, our standard of forgiveness has to be different from others. We are called to forgive others regardless of the offense and as many times as needed. This is something that is easy to say, but hard to do. The hardest part isn't forgiving the offense, it is forgiving the individual. We are told that when we forgive, we are to forget also. I do not agree with this. When the Bible tells us to forgive and forget, it doesn't ignore the consequences of the action. It is not bringing it up again. This is easy for issues like lying or stealing, but what about deeper betrayals? It's hard to forgive someone who broke the trust between the two of you. I firmly believe that we can forgive someone, but that doesn't mean we act like it never happened. There are people that I have forgiven their actions, but I am not going to put myself into a situation where I can be hurt like that again. If you have any comments regarding this, please post them so that I can get other people's opinions as well.

I agree!! (See, someone reads your blog!!) I think this is totally because we are fallen humans with a sin nature. We are incapable of forgetting. God casts our sins as far as the east is from the west, but we (Christians) will still be judged for the things we have and haven't done. His casting is the "not holding it against us" part. This is the part where we fail. Forgiveness does not mean setting yourself up for failure, it is forgiving, expecting the best, but recognizing that they are human, too, and will fall just as we do.
