It's been a few years since posting.

It's been several years since I've posted on here. I've been very busy with many, many things. I know that pretty much no one reads this, so I'm not going to make any promises about posting on the certain days or anything. I am going to promise that when I have something important to say or something that I cannot forget, I will say it.
Right now, the biggest thing that keeps coming up is the issue of forgiveness. As Christians, our standard of forgiveness has to be different from others. We are called to forgive others regardless of the offense and as many times as needed. This is something that is easy to say, but hard to do. The hardest part isn't forgiving the offense, it is forgiving the individual. We are told that when we forgive, we are to forget also. I do not agree with this. When the Bible tells us to forgive and forget, it doesn't ignore the consequences of the action. It is not bringing it up again. This is easy for issues like lying or stealing, but what about deeper betrayals? It's hard to forgive someone who broke the trust between the two of you. I firmly believe that we can forgive someone, but that doesn't mean we act like it never happened. There are people that I have forgiven their actions, but I am not going to put myself into a situation where I can be hurt like that again. If you have any comments regarding this, please post them so that I can get other people's opinions as well.

What a Wednesday

When I went to sleep on Tuesday night, this was the forcast for Wednesday. When I woke up, I was expecting a "winter wonderland". Instead, I got this.

This is the view when I opened my front door.

These are the trees beside my car and the trees across from my townhouse.

Just to give you an idea, that is my foot next to the branch.
All of this was finished by me coming back to a townhouse that had absolutely no power whatsoever. As near as I can tell, I believe that the power went out around noon yesterday. It did not come back on (and stay on) until 10:48 p.m. By then, both upstairs and downstairs were quite frigid. All I can say is thank you to the power company guys who were outside working at 11 p.m. and probably worked most of the night.

The first three days of classes

Well, I've finished the first three days of classes (which I bet you couldn't have seen that coming.) My semester is looking like it is going to be an awesome one, one full of fun things. I am taking two classes which I actually have a place to meet, and one class online. My first class is about the Life of Christ. I know that it is going to be an amazing class because my teacher said yesterday, "If your life isn't changed by this class, then I have failed as a teacher. It's not because I would have done my best or anything like that, it is because we are going to be studying Christ's life. If your life isn't changed by His, then I have failed you." Wow. What could be said more than that! My other class that I have is also going to be awesome, but for a different reason. It is a class on Gourmet cooking. Yesterday, when my teacher was giving a synopsis of what this semster has in store for us, she listed some very exciting things. First, my "big" assignment for this class is that I have to create a receipe, present it to the class, and serve it at a class sponsored dinner. There are a few rules with it, like it cannot contain any preservitives, and it has to be original. One thing that she said that I am looking forward to is that we will be taking several trips in this class. One of which is to Harrisonburg, VA for an event somewhat like an in-store convention. It isn't until March, so I'll know details about that later. All I can say is that this last semester (which ends in 115 days from today, Wednesday) is going to be an amazing semester. Just so I don't forget to mention it, the web class is English Literature and for those who know me well, all I can say about it is "yeah."

Time flies......

It's been a while since I have posted on here. Eleven weeks and three days to be exact. In those two months, I have been extremely busy. But, first things first. I promised a long time ago that I would post pictures of my townhouse, so, here is the first batch of pictures.

This is the front of my townhouse. That is my car on the left.

This is the decorations that my roommate and his girlfriend put up for parents weekend. (both of their parents came down and they wanted it to look nice)

This is the front door.

This is what you see when you first enter in through the door. Nice stairs, right?

This is the TV and game system center. We currently have a PS2, X-Box, and GameCube.

Here is the couch that eats you alive. It pretty much has no back to it whatsoever.

Here is the recliner, it is great for napping.

Here is the couch that my neighbors threw out. It works really well.

And here is my "small" collection of DVD's. I currently have 219 DVDs, not counting TV series, in which case, that number is much higher.

So, there is the living room and the front of my house. Stay tuned in for later pictures and weird comments on them. As to life in general, it has been very busy, as I stated earlier. I have been working two (count them TWO) jobs, on top of having four 400 level classes and one 200 level class. I am on schedule to graduate in just about 6 weeks, and I cannot wait. As to what I will do after I graduate, I am planning on working on my Masters in Global Apologetics. I am still trying to work out the details, but I can already see God's hand at work in that too. In minor note, it has gotten quite cold in the past two days. For the first half of this week, the average temperature was around 80 degrees or so. But yesterday and today, it hasn't gotten over 60 degrees. When I got up this morning, it was 48 degrees INSIDE the house. I like cold weather, but not that cold inside. The reason it was so cold is because we didn't turn on the heat last night, therefore, I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, and I was almost late for church. I literally laid in my bed for over 45 minutes not wanting to get out because it was cold. But, God won, and I got up and very quickly got dressed, not from being rushed, but from not wanting to be cold.
Currently, I am copying everything from my laptop to my desktop so I can reformat my laptop. I am almost finished copying everything over; it has gone a lot faster since I found out how to create a workgroup between the two computers. Between that and some homework to finish up, I shall have an..... interesting night.

Oh Happy Day!!!!

FINALLY!!! I have internet and cable TV. YAY!!! It is very exciting. Also, my roommate, Tommy, got here tonight and now there are three of us here. One more to come, but he doesn't get here until the 15th or so. It is very nice to be able to look something up whenever I want to. The cable guy came at 9:20 pm (which surprised me because it was so late, but I am not complaining :). Tommy brought with him a wireless router, and I just spent the last hour or so trying to get it to work correctly, and now it finally does. So, it is 12:15 am, and I work in the morning, so I think I am going to go to bed now. I am just so happy that I have internet, and now I can actually post pictures of my apartment so those who haven't seen it (Karen and family, Keilah, Jeannine). Anywho, Goodnight all.

A quick one

Do you ever get the feeling that you are just spinning your wheels and that you just want to scream? If you do, welcome to the club. I call it the "I am frustrated to my limits" club. Membership is open, but it comes at the cost of your sanity. Anyway, I have found a great way to help relieve some of that stress. All you do is write down everything you want to say to the person who you believe is causing the trouble. After finishing writing the letter, delete it. Although it does no real damage, it helps to releave what is couped up inside of you. Either that or just go outside a scream. Anyway, I haven't posted in a while, so I decided to write something. But, after reading my oldest sister's new post, I have been inspired to ask the question, what could you do with 200 less? Here is my list.
1. 200 less squeeks and creeks in my apartment. I promise that everystep on the stairs has bubble wrap under it.
2. 200 less bills. I do not believe that an explanation is required.
3. 200 less annoying people. Don't get me wrong; I love people, but there are some who are harder to love than others.
4. 200 less missed opportunities. This can vary from missing a bus to missing an opportunity to share Jesus.
5. 200 less excuses. I work at a bookstore, and I hear more excuses than an improv. teacher.
6. 200 less restless nights. I am currently experiencing one of those, hence, this post.
7. 200 less hiccups. Whether they are hiccups in a plan, or just plain ol' hiccups.
Well, that is my list for now. Now, it is your turn. What could you do with 200 less of?

The other one is for fun

So, I haven't written on here for quite a while. I do have a reason. It wasn't because I was extremely busy or tired or ______. It is because I didn't want to write another blog saying, "I am still looking for a job and barely paying bills with "blood" money (actually plasma money is a better description, but it is more fun saying it the other way.). I can, finally, report that I do have somewhat of a job. It isn't everyday, but it is something, enough that with donating, I will finally start to have a little extra cash. I got an email from my boss at the Bookstore on campus. In that email, she sent the schedule for the next two weeks, and I am scheduled to work two days each week. It isn't much, but it is something. I am still waiting to hear back from several other locations, but I am not going to hold my breath. I am still going to try to find another job that will allow me to work the other days that I am not working there. If I find out anything, I will let put something on here. I do want to not have to sell plasma anymore, especially after today. If you have ever had someone "dig" for your vessel, then you can relate to what happened today. Let's just say that my left arm is very sore and I can't bend it completely without wincing in pain. Well, it is 3:45 pm on Saturday the 28th of June and I am sitting in Panera using their free WiFi. I still have to go run a few places, so I need to go. Enjoy the next blog. There are two that I posted, be sure to read both.
